The World Travel Market London, one of the biggest global events for the travel industry, took place earlier this month, between 7th and 9th of November, and Bidroom of course was a part of it. This year the three day event has been the most successful yet, with a record 51,500 participants. With over 250 speakers and 80 events across 12 travel related sectors it has been a major learning experience and an opportunity to showcase our company and the changes we’re currently implementing.
We could officially introduce our new BaaS (Bidroom as a service) model. We were finally able to tell everyone in the business that we are becoming a commission-free booking platform, and instead of charging commission, we are now focusing on offering additional services to hoteliers, who can choose between a Bidroom Free and Bidroom Plus plan, with Bidroom Plus being an upgraded version of a basic model with many profitable upgrades for the hotels using it.
We are happy to say that many hoteliers showed their sympathy with us and expressed hope to join our platform. We started new co-operations with hotel chains and we can’t wait to introduce even more hotels to our website, so that our customers can find a home away from home anywhere in the World.
We also had many interviews with press who was very interested in this completely new, revolutionary model and a different type of booking platform to fill in the gap in the industry. We were proud to share our beliefs and tell people more about us and the company we love.
Another very important benefit from the WTM was meeting many tech partners such as channel manager suppliers, that can in the future help us become even better at our job than we already are. We could exchange ideas and talk about the future of the industry, which we are very excited about, because we firmly believe that a change for the better is about to come.
It was a pleasure to be a part of such an amazing event alongside so many inspiring people. We are always more than happy to learn and talk about the industry that is so dear to us. We look forward to another WTM next year.
